چکیده

Poor germination and late seedling establishment are the main obstacles observed for wide spread adoption of direct-seeded rice cultivation in both rainfed irrigated regions due to waterlogged condition soil. The present experiment was carried out identify landraces with anaerobic tolerance development varieties suitable direct seeded cultivation. A total 53 genotypes were evaluated by following screening methods petri plate tray method. namely savudu samba, vellai kavuni, varappu kudaichan korumbaali recorded maximum percentage (> 90%) under conditions these also produced high dry matter production. minimum malai nellu, surakuruvai mappillai samba remaining moderate germination. Shoot length all ranged from 0.70 6.23 cm Dry production 0.031 0.265 g/10 seedlings. Based on screening, best least performed selected genotyping using already reported SSR markers. marker produces polymorphism between tolerant susceptible genotypes, which can be exploited further Marker Assisted Breeding programme. InDel marker based genetic differentiation and genetic diversity in traditional rice (Oryza sativa L.) landraces of Chhattisgarh, India

Rice has been cultivating and utilizing by humans for thousands of years under diverse environmental conditions. Therefore, tremendous genetic differentiation and diversity has occurred at various agro-ecosystems. The significant indica-japonica differentiation in rice provides great opportunities for its genetic improvement. In the present investigation, a total of 42 polymorphic InDel markers...

Population structure analysis and association mapping of blast resistance in indica rice (Oryza sativa L.) landraces.

Rice blast caused by Magnaporthe oryzae is one of the most devastating rice diseases worldwide. To understand the genetic diversity of indica landrace accessions and identify simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers that are associated with blast resistance, a population of 276 indica landraces from across the world was constructed. This population was then used to evaluate the blast-resistance phe...

MOLECULAR CHARACTERIZATION AND GENETIC DIVERSITY IN FINE GRAIN AND AROMATIC LANDRACES OF RICE (Oryza sativa L.) USING MICROSATELLITE MARKERS

A total of thirty microsatellite molecular markers were used across 21 rice genotypes for their characterization and discrimination. The number of alleles per locus ranged from three (RM165, RM219, RM248, RM463, RM470 and RM517) to nine (RM223), with an average of 4.53 alleles across the 30 loci obtained in the study. The polymorphism information content (PIC) values ranged from 0.30 (RM219) to...

Tolerance of anaerobic conditions caused by flooding during germination and early growth in rice (Oryza sativa L.)

Rice is semi-aquatic, adapted to a wide range of hydrologies, from aerobic soils in uplands to anaerobic and flooded fields in waterlogged lowlands, to even deeply submerged soils in flood-prone areas. Considerable diversity is present in native rice landraces selected by farmers over centuries. Our understanding of the adaptive features of these landraces to native ecosystems has improved cons...

GENETIC DIVERSITY ANALYSIS OF RICE (Oryza sativa L.) LANDRACES THROUGH RAPD MARKERS

The molecular marker is a useful tool for assessing genetic variations and resolving cultivar identities. Information on genetic diversity and relationships among rice landraces from Bangladesh is currently very limited. Thirty-five rice genotypes including 33 landraces and 01 HYV of Bangladesh and 1 Indian landrace of particular interest to breeding programs were evaluated by means of random a...
